Writing to create and alternative world

It can be like an addiction once it grabs you.
I sometimes spend all day at the computer and forget mealtimes exist.
One quote I like is: “Writers need to create an alternative world”.
I do that, and when I am writing, I am totally engrossed in my characters and the situation they are in.
